Each family contributes its unique story, passion, and resilience, weaving together the fundamental threads that support such monumental achievements.In the heart of Clark International Airport (CRK), a vibrant tribute emerges that recognizes the remarkable dedication of its family of employees, particularly those whose hard work often goes unnoticed.
This dynamic airport, operated by Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD), has recently launched an inspiring mural project that celebrates its unsung heroes—every single airport worker. Through this artistic endeavor, CRK aims to shine a light on the invaluable support and motivation these individuals provide, acknowledging the essential role they play in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service at the airport.
Stretching across three expansive walls and encompassing nearly 94 square meters, this vibrant mural serves as a powerful visual homage to the teamwork, energy, and resilience of the CRK community. This community is comprised not only of dedicated LIPAD employees but also encompasses a diverse array of government agencies, concessionaires, airlines, ground handlers, and various service providers. While they may represent distinct organizations, they come together as one cohesive family— the CRK family.
Masterfully painted by the talented Porac Young Artists, the mural showcases three captivating scenes. The first wall brings to life the dynamic atmosphere of the airport, featuring elegantly curved roofs, inviting waiting benches, a variety of retail spaces, and silhouettes of travelers and employees weaving through their daily routines.
The second wall delves deeper into the heart of CRK, highlighting its people. Each face is depicted in a kaleidoscope of vivid hues, capturing the rich diversity and vibrant spirit of the workforce, symbolizing unity amid individuality.
The third wall, bathed in the warm hues of sunset, presents a striking depiction of the airport’s rear view. An airplane stands proudly, framed against a backdrop of vibrant oranges and soft purples, while the silhouettes of diligent workers and eager passengers journey forward toward the distant horizon. This scene serves as a powerful metaphor for service, determination, and the enduring hope that accompanies each flight.
“This mural isn’t just art, it’s a recognition of the people who make CRK a world-class airport,” said Noel Manankil, President and CEO of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. or LIPAD, the operator of CRK. “Our airport family, from our frontliners to our behind-the-scenes staff, plays a critical role in our journey. We’ve always known they were at the heart of Clark, and now they’re on the walls for everyone to see.”
The Porac Young Artists, under the inspiring leadership of Jay-R Malig, embodies the collective vision of the CRK team. Established by Porac Tourism in 2021, this vibrant group has gained recognition for its colorful and whimsical murals that ignite joy and foster imagination in the community. Their talented artists, skilled in the craft of public art, have previously left their mark on barangays, schools, and community spaces throughout Pampanga, transforming ordinary environments into lively canvases that celebrate creativity and community spirit.
This latest project is not just a creative statement but a reflection of CRK’s core values, community, commitment, and continuous progress. “Art has a way of making stories visible,” added Manankil. “And this mural tells the story of our people, with all the color, spirit, and heart they bring to work every single day.”
