Cheapest Day To Buy Your Airline Tickets
I was watching television a while ago and a short segment on Travel Specials appeared. The segment was on when the Best Day and Time to buy your …
Airline Tickets
is, in order to secure the lowest prices. One of our local high profile professional travel agents at home here in Canada, was talking about this subject.
It appears that not only is there a; Best Day to buy your tickets, but also a; ⏰ Best Time of day as well. It made me realize that a lot of people may not be aware of this, so I thought I would pass the information on to you.
After doing some more research on this subject, I did discover that …
Yes, there are {Good and Bad} days to book your airline tickets.
Choosing the right day apparently, can save you a lot of money. First, have a look at this short but informative video from one of my favorite travel experts, on ways to save on travel.
6 Ways To Save On Travel – YouTube Video
I already knew that flying on a certain weekday, is definitely cheaper than other days of the week.
But did you know that weekends also can be cheaper
There’s a great reduction in Business travel on weekends, so airlines will tend to lower their prices to fill those seats.
Tuesday – Still A Good Day To Purchase
This is especially true if you are booking a domestic flight, or travel within the same country in which you are living in.
Travel experts say that not only is Tuesday the best day to book your tickets, but right after midnight as well.
From what we just learned from the video above from a leading travel expert, is that for the absolute {best time} for the cheapest airline tickets, you should …
Call at 12:01 Wednesday Morning!
Call Just After Midnight On Tuesday Evening
Why should I call after midnight you ask
seat selection is usually plentiful early in the week and therefore, prices should be at their lowest.
Should you choose to book your airline tickets online, try to book your flight at least; 3 weeks before the date of departure. Experts have said that it helps to call the airline directly, if you can get thru!
Airlines do not always post what is actually available at that time.
Hmmm …
Every time I’ve called the airlines directly, they keep telling me; what I see online is what they are seeing as well! 🤨
A great way to keep informed is by subscribing to your favorite airlines email newsletters, or airline watchdogs as I do.
Stay Informed With Airlines Newsletters
Subscribing to email newsletters of your choice, can be very helpful and may save you a lot of money, when booking any form of travel. Of course, it’s great if you are; flexible with your travel days as well.
Many of the major airlines will generally post prices for individual days, before and after your selected travel date on their website. This often gives you more choices for specific flight times and substantial price savings.
Simply by choosing a different travel date!
Take a look at a couple of your favorite airlines on their website. I am sure you’ll soon discover that Tuesday and Wednesday travel can be cheaper than other days of the week.
Doing further research of websites and airlines, you can get cheaper flights on {Saturdays} as well, at specific times. There are other factors as well, that will help you receive reduced airfares. Some of these include;
Departure times;
Direct flights, with one or more stops.
Below, is another article published online, regarding the best day to book flights.
Buying Airline Tickets On Friday Can Be Expensive
Air Travel Data collected has revealed that weekends, offered some best deals for flights.
I’m sure most of us and especially those who love to travel, have certainly noticed that prices for tickets have increased dramatically this season.
Fuel prices, staff shortages and with airlines now reducing the number of flights, has created less opportunities for travelers to fill cheaper seats. Last minute cancellations, overbooking and other annoying disruptions within the airline industry, have made finding air travel bargains all the more difficult at this time.
It seems that you need to book your reservations as early as possible now, in order to secure the best possible price for your flight. As the article concludes;
“When you find a bargain, don’t wait – book it!”
Book Red Eye Flights For Cheaper Airline Fares
Are you willing to take a dreaded “red eye” flight
Then you should expect to get cheaper fares when booking tickets, depending on where you’re flying to. This may still be an option for you when booking a flight, to help save money.
In many cases however, as we experienced on our international flight to; Vietnam from Canada a few seasons back, you really don’t have a choice at all.
So the next time you find yourself looking for a flight to let’s say …
Waikiki Beach Oahu, Hawaii
or any other destination for that matter, consider the options suggested here. They might just help save you some money on air travel.
Tuesday Is Still A Good Day For Cheaper Fares
I found this quote from a reputable wholesale airline ticket platform online. This business has always offered consistent and reliable travel information. They also confirm that; Tuesday, is still a good day to book your airline tickets.
“When should I buy my airline ticket?”Based on years of complex analysis, FareCompare has the answer; Book At 3 pm On Tuesdays – For Domestic Travel
“Generally, the cheapest time to buy airfare is four to six weeks before your departure date, and that’s because airlines have no real incentive to offer discounts before that.”
Google Flight Alerts
If you are flexible with your travel dates and times, then be sure to give; Google Flight Alerts a try. It’s easy to use and they will notify you, if and when a preferred flight you after entered, drops in price.
I’ve used it a couple of times now and did receive an email alert when there was a drop in price, for the flight I was searching for at that time.
Pretty Cool!
Here’s how to set Google Flight alerts;
Go to – Google.com/flights;
Enter Your Travel Information;
Enter your travel details into Google Flights…
(number of passengers, origin airport, destination airport);
Choose Your Dates. Enter your travel dates;
Click the “Track Prices” Toggle;
Click “View All”;
View the Flights You’re Tracking;
Monitor Your Email.
Still not convinced
My wife and I booked our airline tickets for our dream vacation to 🦒 Tanzania & Zanzibar in Africa, a couple of seasons ago. We booked these international flights more than 6 months in advance and reservations were filling up fast, at that time.
