For those of you who have had enough of Cancun, Punta Cana and the like, and are eager to explore lesser-known Caribbean gems yet to be spoiled by the masses, Delta has come to your rescue.

Starting in winter 2025, the U.S. based airline will launch its largest-ever Latin America and Caribbean schedule, including the addition of two destinations to their flight map, the island-nations of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada.

The flights will be offered from their Atlanta (ATL) hub, and the additions will make the previously out-of-the-way islands a lot easier to reach for many Americans who routinely use this airport, the biggest one Stateside, as a transit hub:

The new flights will be operated by Delta’s Boeing 737-800 fleet, which are equipped with First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin seats, at a daily frequence, from December 12, 2025, through April 12, 2026.

This means Atlanta-based customers, or any traveler transiting Atlanta, will enjoy nonstop connections to the duo of Eastern Caribbean nations throughout the peak travel season, and it could not have been more timely.

After all, there’s just no beating the Caribbean when it comes to sunny getaways for Americans.

Just think of all the luxury all-inclusives, the endless miles of powdered sugar-white sands unfolding along turquoise waters, and all the delicious seafood you can gorge on, and how effortless and easy it feels compared to crossing the pond, or flying further away to Asia.

We’re not sure about you, but we love it for the convenience, the short 2 to 4-hour flights, and for how American-friendly these islands are, and in both St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada, it is no different.

Lush Nature, Volcanic Scenery & Epic Hikes

St. Vincent and the Grenadines are primarily known for their lush nature and mountain-traversed, volcanic landscape.

Looming over St. Vincent, the main island, La Soufrière is one of the tallest stratovolcanos in the Caribbean, and the rainforest trail leading up to its peak is teeming with wildlife—just make sure you check local safety advisories before attempting a hike, as it’s still active.

Over in the Grenadines, the neighboring archipelago, there’s a wide range of activities on offer, from sailing, to scuba diving to island-hopping:

There are numerous paradisaical islands boasting unruffled sandy beaches and secret coves bathed by crystal-clear seas to discover here.

Bequia Island is one of the Grenadines’ most popular for day-trippers, due to its scenic Admiralty Bay, laid-back fishing villages, and rich heritage (for the culture buffs out there, make sure you don’t miss out on the local Maritime Museum).

If you’re keen on something a little more exotic, taking a boat tour out to the Tobago Cays is a must-do: this collective of tiny uninhabited islets are surrounded by vibrant-colored coral reefs, and they’re ideal for snorkeling.

Grenada, on the other hand, is an even more offbeat collective of islands revolving around a main one, Grenada Island, or ‘Spice Island’, famous for its untouched rainforested interior, volcanic landscape, and of course, abundance of spice, from cinnamon, to cloves, to nutmeg.

The top attraction on Grenada is Grand Anse, a 2-mile stretch of white sand unfolding along bright-blue waters, backed by top-notch amenities and beach bars.

The country’s capital St. George’s is nearby, and its 18th-century Fort George commands a beautiful panorama of the entire island.

For the nature enthusiasts, Grand Etang is a national park comprising numerous hiking pathways, and a crater lake, where you can bask in the tropical atmosphere, as well as encounter rare wildlife, like Mona monkeys and Grenada doves.

As gorgeous as Spice Island may be, no visit to Grenada is complete without Carriacou and Petite Martinique, two smaller islands belonging to the state, where you’ll find more picturesque bays, coral reefs, and sleepy coastal villages.

Oh, and if you’ve ever wondered where the Caribbean’s most iconic underwater sculpture park is located, look no further than Molinière Bay:

A diver and snorkeler favorite, it features 75, intricately-carved submerged sculptures signed by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor.

Delta Is Banking Heavily On The Caribbean Next Winter

Delta’s flights to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD), and Grenada (GND) are already an exciting enough development, but wait until you hear about their great new expansion in the LatAm and Caribbean region:

For starters, they will be adding a Saturday service from Detroit (DTW) to Grand Cayman (GCM), as well as increasing flight frequency going to Nassau (NAS), in the Bahamas, and Cancun (CUN).

For Minneapolis (MSP), Nassau has been added as a destination, giving Midwesterners yet another getaway option during their harsh winter.

In Boston (BOS), the airline will be serving St. Thomas (STT), in the U.S. Virgin Islands, daily throughout the peak season, an increasingly-trendy alternative for Americans who haven’t got a passport in hands.

That being said, Cancun (CUN) remains the most popular Caribbean destination from Boston, so in order to meet rapidly-rising demand, a second daily flight has been added to their winter schedule.

Other additions include Austin (AUS) to Cancun throughout winter, Austin to Los Cabos (SJD), also in Mexico, for two months in December and January, and Saturday flights from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to San Juan, in Puerto Rico (SJU).

Lastly, Nashville (BNA), Kansas City (MCI), and Indianapolis (IND) are also seeing new Saturday flights to Cancun added.
